Synopsis

Former CIA staffer and renowned chef, Arthur “Artichoke” Hart is invited to a Space Elevator seminar at the Eiffel Tower and is introduced to a leading French entrepreneur and philanthropist. When Hart discovers that the Frenchman plans to build a space elevator offshore in international waters, every intelligence service on the planet is concerned, including Frank Daro and his covert operation at Homeland Security. Hart is mandated to find out more, while simultaneously juggling duties as a quasi-chaperone for his son’s high school class touring various French tourist sites. Complications abound when his son’s recently divorced chaperone sets her sights on Hart, with secrets of her own. The plot twists and surprises abound as Hart maneuvers his way amongst terrorists, international intelligence agencies, and a bunch of high school kids on their first trip away from home. It’s a recipe for pushing the limits of technology and intrigue.
